Youth Empowerment foundation (YEF) is a youth focused non-governmental, not-for-profit organization in Nigeria. Our mission is for youth to live in a world of abundant resources; a world where innate potential is harnessed for positive self-development. YEF improves the quality of life of youth through mobilization, empowerment, and partnership programs, in the areas of education, secure livelihoods, health, child protection, environmental management and sports for development
Founded in 1995, Youth Empowerment Foundation (YEF) delivers high quality programmes and services and had partnered extensively with local and International developmental organisations is its over 20 years of existence. As the pioneer of the HIV/AIDS hotline in Nigeria in 2001, YEF has served more than 2 million young people on their tuft with our dedicated team of vibrant and passionate staff in our offices in Lagos, Ibadan and Abuja FCT.
Our Goal Project of 9 years has trained and empowered over 100,000 young girls on leadership, gender based violence awareness and prevention, rights and Financial Literacy. Meanwhile, thousands of youths in Nigeria has benefited immensely from our secure livelihood projects; vocational and entrepreneurial apprenticeship schemes.
YEF Sports for development project stands her out for innovation and creativity using Football and Martial arts to enhance self-esteem, assertiveness and confidence. Our team sports enhances communication, team building and decision making skills.
One of our viable community outreach strategies is service learning programme. It ensures that communities take ownership of programmes and services. This, further reiterate the fact that development can only thrive when we do our best in our various spaces in the community.
