Livelihoods

Programmatic areas covered include vocational training, job placements, internships and financial literacy training. The Foundation initiated a vocational training center in Pyakasa community in FCT. Over 50 young people benefited from one-year vocational training in tailoring, barbering, hairdressing and catering. And at least 50% were in job placements for 6 months to support their integration into the various professions.

The center was funded till 2014 by the TY Danjuma Foundation and graduates have established various business as a direct benefit from the project. The Foundation is currently running Empowered for Future (E4F) in partnership with FCMB, a youth empowerment and employability initiative for youth in Lagos, specifically in Ajegunle, Surulere and Yaba. And “Skills for the Future” a ladypreneurship program being supported by Standard Chartered UK and Women Win Netherlands in Lagos and Ibadan. YEF focuses on grassroots empowerment of youth in Nigeria
